A wonderful experience. We worked with Thomas Alpe who was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his team. Firstly, the basics (that you’d expect from a buyer’s agent): selection of properties, access to inspect the properties, continual communication about pricing, value and considerations - he provided all this to a very high standard. Next, the negotiations: his experience was evident as he guided us expertly on how to proceed with offers and counter offers. And most importantly, he secured the property for us well under the expected price. But… then the really surprising part - I thought that once the offer was accepted and the purchase done, his job would be finished. But no, he was there guiding us right through to settlement, as well as organising items in the property to be updated, recommending suppliers, managing furniture deliveries, letting in tradies, and much more. And then, even after we were all moved in, he was available for questions, and further advice. Foundational to this entire process: his availability and response time. Does this guy even sleep? No matter what time or day we had a question, he was quick to respond. I’ll say it again: Nothing was too much trouble for him or his team. The expression ‘above and beyond’ gets easily bandied about - but this is the real thing. I rarely write long reviews, but I can’t say enough good things about Thomas and Cohen Handler. Nothing was too much trouble for him to do at short notice arranging inspections of the specific type of property I wanted to inspect, mostly off market. Tom’s relationship with each and every Agent was brilliant! His amazing efforts in regard to finding my property, in a very short period of time in somewhat difficult market was most impressive! I was hospitalised when contracts were exchanged and I recall him attending well into the evening to make the whole deal happen. His negotiating skills were second to none. However, once contracts had been exchanged his interest in my transaction slowly took a noticeable lack of interest and communication which I found most disappointing! I received a congratulations text message upon completion of the transaction and an assurance from him that he was going to see myself and my wife during the course of that week. I haven’t heard from him since being almost 4 weeks ago. This criticism does not alter the fact that I would employ Tom’s services again. Tom is absolutely excellent regarding the final result I required, which ultimately is all I required from him and nothing more. Joe Avakian is an amazing Buyers Agent. He is just who you want in your corner when buying a house. We sold our family home and engaged Joe to try to find us a similar property in a similar area (Lower North Shore Sydney) to cater for our family of 5. Significantly, we needed the new property to be significantly less than the house we had just sold. Good luck I thought, as we mentally adjusted to the change we thought would have to occur as we assumed we would need to relocate well up the North Shore. Joe visited with us all the properties we identified as possible new homes. His advice was honest and to the point. Then, after about 6 weeks from meeting him, Joe had located a great family home in our neighbouring suburb.
